How We're Dealing With COVID-19

How We're dealing with COVID-19

These are challenging times as Australia and the international community band together in the wake of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic. At Pathways Physiotherapy we are encouraging all members of our community, from clients, to our team, and to our partners, to participate in social distancing and to maintain the strictest hygiene procedures at all times to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus.

Whilst we need to “stop the spread”, we also understand that in these times of isolation, working from home and reduced ability to exercise and participate in physical activity, that the risk for developing pain, and the disruption to injury rehabilitation is a very real problem. This is why Physiotherapy has been deemed an Essential Service, by the State and Federal Governments, and which is why we’re still open for both face-to-face treatment, and online.

Therefore we wish to reassure you that we’re absolutely committed to continuing to provide treatment, expertise, and guidance required to help people maintain their physical, and by extension, mental health throughout this time. And that we’re taking all the necessary steps to ensure the health and safety of our clients, staff, and community.

So, what are we doing?

Hygiene Protocols in place

We have escalated our already stringent hygiene protocols.

All our team are trained in the strictest hygiene procedures and have completed the training released by the Australian Government, Department of Health.

We’re changing all bed sheets, towels and pillow slips, and disinfecting treatment beds between every client, as we would normally do.

We are washing our hands frequently and there are hand sanitisers placed throughout the waiting room, gym space, and treatment rooms.

Social Distancing

Our chairs within the waiting room, and throughout the clinic are placed 1.5 metres apart. Our gym equipment is all spaced throughout our large, spacious gym.

We’re limiting our team to just two practitioners working at any one time, and our clinical exercise groups have been limited to two participants.

We’re fortunate to have such a large clinic space (200m2), which makes social distancing easier, however, we’re aware that treatment within the treatment rooms does need to occur. Therefore we’re keeping any face-to-face contact to under 15mins as per guidelines from the Australian Government.

We’re also now offering “Online Physio Consults” to those that are vulnerable, in quarantine, or simply don’t feel comfortable being out in the community, or at the clinic. For more information, you can view our ONLINE PHYSIO CONSULTS page.

We’re continuing to monitor the situation, so please feel assured that your safety and care is our absolute priority.

If you have any further concerns or questions about whether or not to attend your Physiotherapy appointment at Pathways Physiotherapy, please don’t hesitate to call us on (03) 9752 2368.
